Artist Interview

What drew you to the music industry?

  • "I’ve always grew up around music because my grandfather played the Saxophone and he would play jazz all the time around the house growing up, that was my 1st memory in terms of falling in love with music. It’s a feeling I can’t explain but music is (for me) the only time were I feel like I can express myself."

Who are you inspired by?

  • "A lot of my musical inspiration comes from anything I’m listening to. Growing up I drew a lot of my inspiration from artists such as Tyler The Creator, Kendrick Lamar, Drake and Kanye West to name a few. I don’t have one person I can attribute my journey to but hearing “Good Kid Maad City” by Kendrick Lamar changed how I viewed music because of the way it conveyed emotion with some of the most beautiful artistry and sonics I have ever heard."

Is there a hidden meaning in any of your music?

"My music is a reflection of how I’m feeling at the time so rarely would there be any hidden meaning. I feel as if it takes away from the art if you’re not telling people your truth. I want people to know what LT has to say and be able to relate."

Do you collaborate with others? What is that process?

  • "Yeah I collaborate, I enjoy it a lot because you get a look into another artist’s way of making music. It’s an amazing feeling when you and another artist are just in sync. I don’t have a defined process, it’s literally just about the vibes, the chemistry, that’s all it is for me. If I’m feeling what you’re saying and we vibe in the studio there’s really no reason for me not to work with you."

What advice would you have for someone wanting to follow in your footsteps?

  • "The biggest obstacle for me was overcoming that thing that’s telling you all the reasons why you can’t do it. I believe in what I do and that’s just it’s WHAT I DO. To anyone out there that’s still questioning pursuing their music, ask yourself how you can let anybody else be the judge of your expression as an artist. No one can fault you on how much you believe in yourself, they can fault on how much work you’re putting in to your craft. So 1st believe in yourself then work on what you do because that’s the only way you’re going to get better."
